Senior year; it is a time of slacking off. Where wearing pajamas to school is considered normal and doing homework a thing of the past. Indeed, it seems as if a strong case of senioritis has taken hold of Forks High graduating class, fliers and posters displayed everywhere counting down the days till freedom. Everyone has something to be happy about and none more so than Bella Swan. After all the Cullens reappearance seemed to bring her out of her shell and with the date set for her transformation, she has more to look forward to than just graduation.
None of this settles very well with the pack in La Push, who find their numbers growing rapidly. The treaty formed years ago clearly states that not only does feeding from a human break the pact but so does a simple bite. However, no one is more upset with this than Jacob Black, who had been Bella’s rock during her “dark times”. It was him who picked up the pieces and worked to fix her after Edward left and for all that to be thrown away the second the leech comes back is infuriating. Jacob is determined to find a way to save Bella from what he considers a fate worse than death any way that he can while Edward is set on keeping her safe from the creatures that he views as uncontrollable. All this leaves Bella stuck in the middle of her love for Edward and need to have Jacob in her life and it won’t be long before she had to choose where her future lies.
As if to make things more difficult, Seattle is host to a string of murders and disappearance. All evidence points to a maniac but the truth behind the case is far more deadly than many would like to believe.
